Job Summary
We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated Middle School English Language Arts Teacher to teach a range of English language arts courses to students in grades 6-8. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic achievement, creativity, and critical thinking. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in English language arts, excellent communication skills, and a passion for teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and standards
- Teach a range of English language arts courses, including literature, composition, and grammar
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and administrators
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in English language arts education
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians through regular progress reports, email, and parent-teacher conferences
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress, including grades, attendance, and disciplinary actions
- Participate in school-wide events and activities, including liturgies, assemblies, and parent-teacher organization meetings
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification in English language arts or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in a middle school setting
- Strong knowledge of English language arts curriculum and standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in English, education, or a related field
- Experience with technology integration, including Google Classroom and online gradebooks
- Experience with differentiated instruction and assessment
- Experience with project-based learning and interdisciplinary instruction
