Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Embedded Kernel Engineer to join our team, working on embedded kernel technologies that power every aspect of our products. As a member of our Embedded Runtimes team, you will have the opportunity to make a major impact on the way we integrate hardware and software stacks, working on core kernel and runtime technology that drives our products forward.

In this highly visible role, you will be at the center of our efforts, influencing and assisting teams across the company to provide the best embedded kernel and OS services across our product line. You will be working on designing and implementing embedded kernel technologies, drivers, and supporting infrastructure, as well as collaborating with multi-functional teams to bring up, develop, and debug embedded software development environments for new platforms, products, and prototype systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement embedded kernel technologies, drivers, and supporting infrastructure
  • Work with multi-functional teams to bring up, develop, and debug embedded software development environments for new platforms, products, and prototype systems
  • Help define the software roadmap for new embedded kernel and runtime features, supporting a range of hardware platforms
  • Contribute to spec and requirements and features for future hardware and custom silicon
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive technical innovation and improve product performance
  • Participate in hardware and software design reviews, providing expert feedback and guidance

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in computer engineering, computer science, or electrical engineering, with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in one of these fields. You should be highly proficient in kernel and driver or embedded firmware development in C and C++, with a fundamental knowledge of embedded processors and real-time operating system concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to comprehend SoC spec and participate in silicon and pre-silicon bring-up
  • Experience in participating in hardware and software design reviews and driving technical innovation
  • Highly professional, with the ability to deliver proven work on tight schedules
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience developing tools using Python
  • Experience with debuggers such as JTAG, gdb, lldb, etc. and code management tools such as Git
