Your Role: Developmental Paraprofessional
As a Developmental Paraprofessional with Positive Development, you'll play a vital role in our mission to transform the lives of children and teens with autism. You'll work one-on-one with our clients in their homes, using our unique developmental approach to care. With the support of our Clinical team, you'll become an invaluable resource to the child and their family, helping them navigate the challenges of autism and unlock their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one play-based care for a child or young adult with autism, tailored to their individual needs and goals.
 - Follow a personalized plan for your client, reporting progress each session through our custom mobile app.
 - Communicate thoughtfully and professionally with your client's family, ensuring they're informed and empowered to support our care program.
 - Attend clinical lectures and team meetings to aid in your development and stay up-to-date on best practices in autism care.
 - Participate in paid training (approximately 20 hours at $20/hr) to learn our unique method of care, rooted in play and personal connection.
 - Work a micro part-time role consisting of approximately 4-10 hours per week, with a flexible schedule that suits your needs.
 
The Ideal Candidate: Qualities and Qualifications
We're looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with developmental needs. If you have a background in childcare, education, or a related field, we encourage you to apply. Specifically, we're looking for:
- Teachers Assistants, Camp Counselors, Childcare Specialists, Special Education Teachers/Paraprofessionals, Direct Support Professionals, and Personal caregivers.
 - Individuals with an interest in a career in child development, and a willingness to learn and grow with our organization.
 - Candidates who are at least 18 years old, with a GED or high school diploma.
 - Those who can commit to working with Positive Development for at least 12 months, and are able to meet the physical demands of the role (lifting heavy objects, getting up and down from the floor, and actively playing with children).
 
Essential Skills and Competencies:
- Patience, empathy, and a deep understanding of the needs of individuals with autism.
 - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and our Clinical team.
 - A willingness to learn and adapt to new approaches and strategies, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
 - Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license or state ID, with the ability to work-to-work commute mileage reimbursement.
