Job Summary

As an External Support Engineer, you will serve as a bridge between external content creation teams and our internal development team. You will be the first point of contact for content teams experiencing issues with our tools and will work closely with them to resolve problems efficiently. Your primary goal will be to provide technical support, create reference materials, and advocate for tools and workflow improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to external content creation teams regarding the use of content tools, troubleshooting issues, and resolving problems efficiently.
  • Reference Materials and Training: Create reference materials, guides, and provide training to help external teams get up to speed with our toolset.
  • Issue Resolution and Debugging: Solve and debug possible issues with tools and workflows to quickly resolve issues for users.
  • Escalation and Collaboration: Escalate complex or problematic issues to the tool development team, work with production to track these issues in JIRA, and collaborate with other engineers to develop tools and processes that improve efficiency and quality.
  • Advocacy and Feedback: Advocate for tools, workflow improvements, and suggestions from external teams, and provide objective and constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Guide or lead cross-disciplinary dialogs to drive features from initial concept to completion, and partner with other engineers to develop tools and processes that improve efficiency and quality.
  • Professionalism and Accountability: Exemplify reliability, accountability, and professionalism in all work-related interactions.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Computer Science or related degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Experience supporting a live service or tool environment, preferably in the entertainment or technology industry.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Ability to read and understand C# code.
    • Experience with Unity 3D game and tool development.
    • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or other defect tracking software.
    • iOS and Android mobile development experience.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Positive attitude and ability to receive and provide objective and constructive feedback.
    • Excellent organization skills.
    • Self-motivating; able to prioritize and manage numerous requests simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience: 5 years' experience in delivering production-level code in a professional environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Experience with cloud-based services and tools.
    • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
