Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Senior Data Scientist to join our team at Walgreens. As a key member of our data science team, you will be responsible for applying advanced data science, predictive analytics, and AI techniques to drive business insights and inform strategic decisions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, analysts, software developers, and business leaders, to develop and implement data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Construct and deploy complex machine learning models using specialized data in AI, statistical modeling, probability, and decision theory.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes to support business intelligence and data-driven decision-making.
  • Apply statistical rigor and data-driven approaches to analyze large datasets, using advanced statistical methods, predictive modeling, and data mining techniques.
  • Design, develop, and deploy data visualizations, reports, and dashboards to communicate insights and recommendations to business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with software developers to integrate data science models and algorithms into web and cloud applications.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code using Python, PySpark, Matplotlib, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other relevant technologies.
  • Work with distributed computing frameworks, such as Apache Spark, to process large datasets and build predictive models.
  • Develop and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
  • Communicate complex technical ideas and concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including business leaders, analysts, and software developers.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and methodologies in data science, AI, and machine learning.

Essential Capabilities

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential capabilities:

  • Master's degree in a STEM field, such as computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in data science, AI, quantitative, or computational fields, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, PySpark, SQL, and other relevant technologies.
  • Experience working with large-scale, complex datasets to build predictive models, including experience with data visualization, data mining, and statistical analysis.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning, regression, classification, clustering, and dimensionality reduction.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Capabilities

The following preferred capabilities are highly desirable for this role:

  • Ph.D. in a STEM field, such as computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience working with IoT and edge AI technologies.
  • Experience with support vector machines, decision trees, and other machine learning algorithms.
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare regulations.
