As a Remote Medical Customer Service Representative, you'll play a critical role in helping patients understand their financial responsibilities, resolving outstanding balances, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients on the phone, helping them to resolve their Self-Pay balances by establishing payment plans, updating insurance coverage, and providing customer support as a member of our client's business office.
- Take inbound and make outbound calls to patients regarding outstanding balances, utilizing call scripts provided and documenting all conversations electronically on company and/or client systems.
- Identify consumer payment plans, set up consumer payments over the phone, and assist patients in determining eligibility for financial assistance programs and/or bank loans when applicable.
- Meet or exceed established metric goals, working in a fast-paced call center environment and adhering to standardized productivity goals.
- Provide information to Client Services as needed, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration between teams.
- Understand and fully comply with all federal and state laws and regulations (HIPPA, Medicare Fraud, Waste and Abuse, etc.) regarding collections policies and procedures.
Essential Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Willingness to submit to a background check.
- High integrity and a strong commitment to ethical behavior.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with a proven track record of success.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA, Medicaid, Medicare, Insurance, and FDCPA.
- Experience with medical billing/claims processing, with a strong understanding of the healthcare industry.
- Proficient in PC-based applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong time management and sound decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
