Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Use pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug information and process prescriptions
• Model and provide a unique and delightful customer experience, engaging customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with services and products
• Resolve customer issues and answer inquiries to ensure a positive customer experience
• Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers
• Perform duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including using pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, and verifying medication accuracy
• Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement programs
• Strictly adhere to the Walgreen Co. policy regarding good faith dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities
• Accountable and responsible for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collecting and handling cash as required, and taking customers to the OTC aisle when possible to assist in finding products

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess certain skills and qualifications. The essential qualifications include:

• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Basic math skills, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications
• Basic computer skills and ability to use pharmacy systems

The preferred qualifications include:

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Previous work experience with Walgreens
• PTCB certification
• Knowledge of store inventory control
