Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Math Instructor to join our team of elite educators. As a Math Instructor at Vanguard College Prep, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our students, helping them develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and core skills. You will be responsible for instructing small groups of students, tracking their progress, and creating customized lesson plans that inspire a love for learning. Key Responsibilities

• Instruct small groups of students in math core skills, promoting long-term understanding of topics and top scores in college readiness exams (ACT & SAT)
• Track student progress, engaging students in individualized growth and improvement opportunities along the way
• Model professionalism and strong organizational skills, maintaining and updating student lesson schedules on our online platform and holding students accountable for assignments
• Spearhead the development and creative execution of ever-evolving lesson plans and curriculum
• Mentor middle and high school students with empathy and an innate understanding of the college application process

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A Bachelor's degree or higher in mathematics, education, or a related STEM field (Master's or higher preferred; open to those entry-level)
• Teaching experience in math and/or experience working in a college-level tutoring center (1+ years)
• A GPA of 3.5 or higher
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites
• Access to a reliable internet connection and a workspace with minimal noise/distraction

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will also possess:

• Experience teaching at the college or community college level
• A robust understanding of classroom pedagogy and the ability to create customized, engaging lesson plans
• A desire to help students recognize, reach for, and realize their fullest potential
• A dynamic and outgoing personality
• The ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Mastery of SAT and ACT Math, especially in subjects such as Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics

Compensation and Benefits
