Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Collaborate with families, staff, and students to create and implement IEPs that meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring their academic and personal growth.
- Stay Current with Best Practices: Remain informed about the latest legal requirements, research, and best practices in special education, incorporating this knowledge into your teaching practices.
- Collaborate with Educators and Support Staff: Work closely with teachers, general education specialists, and support staff to ensure student success, sharing your expertise and insights to inform instruction.
- Provide Personalized Instruction: Deliver instruction to students in one-on-one or small-group settings, adapting curriculum to meet the diverse needs of every learner and promoting academic achievement.
- Adapt Curriculum and Instruction: Differentiate instruction and adapt curriculum to meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring that they're able to access and engage with the learning material.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful as a Virtual Special Education Teacher with Workwarp, you'll need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or a Related Field: A degree in special education or a related field, such as education or psychology, is required. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Special Education Endorsement: A valid teaching license with a Special Education endorsement in the state of New Mexico is required.
- Experience Working with Students with Diverse Needs: Proven experience working with students with diverse needs and abilities, including those with IEPs.
- Strong Knowledge of IEP Implementation and Development: A deep understanding of IEP implementation and development, including the ability to create and implement effective IEPs.
