Position Summary
We're looking for a highly skilled and compassionate Virtual IEP Teacher to join our team on a 1099 contract basis. In this fully remote role, you'll be responsible for providing high-quality, individualized instruction to students with special needs, helping them achieve their educational goals and reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify student needs, strengths, and learning styles, and use this information to inform instruction and develop targeted interventions.
 - Develop, implement, and regularly update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that are tailored to the unique needs and goals of each student.
 - Deliver engaging and interactive virtual lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and needs, and use a range of virtual teaching tools and platforms to promote student engagement and motivation.
 - Monitor student progress and maintain open, regular communication with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress and involve them in the educational process.
 - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including special education teachers, therapists, and other support staff, to provide comprehensive support and ensure that students receive the services they need to succeed.
 - Engage in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices in special education, virtual teaching, and technology integration, and to continually enhance your teaching skills and knowledge.
 
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred) from an accredited institution.
 - Valid Mississippi teaching certification in Special Education, with a strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
 - Proven experience working with students with various learning disabilities, including those with autism, ADHD, and other special needs.
 - Proficiency in using virtual teaching tools and platforms, including learning management systems, video conferencing software, and other digital tools.
 - Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, and to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced virtual environment.
 - Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, with a strong sense of self-motivation and discipline.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with IEP development and implementation, including a strong understanding of IEP goals, objectives, and progress monitoring.
 - Knowledge of differentiated instruction and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, with the ability to apply these frameworks in a virtual teaching context.
 - Experience with virtual teaching platforms and tools, including those that facilitate real-time communication, collaboration, and feedback.
 - Strong technical skills, including the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and navigate a range of digital platforms and tools.
