About the Role
As a Lead Experience Designer, you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of customer experience for one of the largest consumer presences in America. You'll be working on a range of consumer-facing products and services, analyzing customer activities, identifying pain points, and developing design solutions that meet user needs. You'll be part of a cross-disciplinary team that includes designers, product managers, and stakeholders from various business areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Envision, create, and maintain end-to-end customer activities for various consumer-facing products and services.
- Provide direction to the team, sharing guidance and real-time feedback to brainstorm new ideas and solutions.
- Mentor junior designers in areas of expertise, helping them make connections between core disciplines.
- Facilitate a wide range of complex design programs or products, working with partners in product, technology, and business.
- Actively explore user context and engage in target user activities when possible.
- Participate in insight-gathering activities and create design solutions that leverage user insights.
- Stay updated on Verizon's business, strategy, and organizational structure.
- Effectively design solutions within Verizon's business context and revenue model.
- Maintain a working knowledge of UI standards for common platforms (iOS, Android, Web).
- Communicate the current project plan, goals, and expected outcomes to stakeholders.
- Articulate user, business, and/or technical reasoning for detailed design decisions in critiques or presentations.
- Identify project needs and engage stakeholders in conversation to fully understand needs.
- Present work and engage in constructive dialogue with stakeholders to ensure strong design rationale.
- Lead a cross-disciplinary team, including agency partners, in problem-solving through the facilitation of design activities.
- Champion a user-centered design process, using tools such as service design blueprints, storyboards, journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes.
What We're Looking For
To succeed in this role, you'll need to have a strong background in experience design, with a portfolio that showcases your skills and expertise. Here are the essential qualifications:
Essential Qualifications
- Six or more years of relevant experience in experience design, demonstrated through work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
- Experience with Agile software delivery environments.
- Proficiency in common design software (Figma, Adobe, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design.
- A portfolio of professional work that showcases your design skills and experience.
- Experience contributing to multiple design programs or shipping products with a large user base.
- Experience with service design and Fortune 500 organizational environments.

Compensation and Benefits
We're offering a competitive salary for this role, with a range of $127,000 to $236,000 annually, depending on your location and experience. Our total rewards package includes a range of benefits, such as:
