Job Overview and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for providing top-notch customer service to our clients, responding to inquiries, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner. Your duties will include:

  • Processing new applications for healthcare coverage via telephone, including building tax households, determining eligibility, and enrolling individuals in health plans
  • Handling life event changes, demographic updates, disenrollment requests, and special enrollment periods as requested
  • Responding to all inquiries consistent with confidentiality and privacy policies and referring callers to alternate sources when appropriate
  • Escalating calls or issues to the appropriate designated staff for resolution as needed
  • Facilitating translation services for non-English speaking callers according to procedures
  • Attending meetings and trainings as requested and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all programs and systems
  • Meeting Quality Assurance (QA) and other key performance metrics
  • Adhering to established safety standards and performing other duties as assigned by management

Training and Development

To prepare you for success in this role, we offer paid, comprehensive training that ensures our customer service representatives care for each caller with the highest levels of knowledge and professionalism. Our training program is 6 weeks long and includes 10 days of onsite training in Albany, NY. After successful completion of training, you will have the opportunity to work remotely and continue to develop your skills and knowledge in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A high school diploma or GED required and 6+ months of relevant professional experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Previous experience in customer service or a related field
  • Knowledge of healthcare plans and insurance industry
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills
  • Experience working in a remote or virtual environment
