About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to join our team at Southwest Airlines. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our web and cloud-based applications, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, scalability, and reliability. Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and process large, complex datasets to meet non-functional and functional business requirements.
  • Identify, design, and implement process enhancements, including re-designing infrastructure for greater flexibility, improving data delivery, and automating manual processes.
  • Develop required frameworks for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various data sources using AWS and SQL technologies.
  • Build scientific tools to utilize the data pipeline, providing valuable insights into key business performance metrics, including operational efficiency and customer acquisition.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data, design, product, and leadership groups, to address data-related technical issues.
  • Work with partners, including the Leader, Product, Data, and Configuration groups, to support their data system needs while addressing data-related technical issues.
  • Create or modify hardware and technology to meet client needs.
  • Perform other work responsibilities as directed by Representative's Chiefs.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on web and cloud-based applications.
  • Expertise in AWS and SQL technologies, including data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Strong understanding of data pipelines, data warehousing, and business intelligence.
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and identify trends.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the essential qualifications, the following qualifications are preferred:
