Position Summary
As a Retail Customer Service Associate, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences, providing expert knowledge of our printing, shipping, and signs & graphics services, and driving sales growth. You will work in a fast-paced retail environment, utilizing your consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and provide solutions. You will also be responsible for operating and maintaining a wide variety of equipment, managing the production queue and output, and completing assigned tasks based on priority.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer experiences by utilizing consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and provide solutions
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of our printing, shipping, and signs & graphics services, and recommend appropriate products and services to customers
- Operate and maintain a wide variety of equipment, including printing, binding, and other related equipment
- Manage the production queue and output, and prioritize tasks to meet customer needs
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly retail store environment
- Process financial transactions using a Point of Sale terminal (POS), including handling cash and making change
- Stay current on retail store merchandising materials and ensure proper display of all retail area product and signage
- Take preemptive action to prevent errors and waste
- Complete required financial paperwork and assist with financial reporting, including daily sales, close-outs, and bank deposits
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- 6+ months of specialized experience in a retail or customer service environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to stand during entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods
- Ability to move and lift 55 pounds
- Ability to bend/twist at the waist and knees on a consistent basis
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other team members
- Ability to perform work activities requiring cooperation and instruction
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, under substantial pressure
- Ability to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a printing, shipping, or signs & graphics environment
- Knowledge of Quality concepts and principles
- Experience with inventory management and control
- Certification in customer service or sales
