Position Overview
- Job Title: Part-Time Tutor
- Location: Bernardsville, NJ (with some online tutoring options)
- Compensation: $50 per hour (dependent on experience)
- Start Date: Immediate hiring
Key Responsibilities
As a part-time tutor with Collegewise, you will be responsible for:
- Instructing students privately at our offices or online (via Skype, FaceTime, Zoom, etc.)
- Preparing students for ACT, SAT, ISEE/SSAT, AP exams, and academic subjects
- Developing and implementing customized lesson plans to meet students' needs
- Providing ongoing support and feedback to students and parents
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress and communication with parents
- Participating in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Ability to score in the 95th percentile or above in selected subjects (ACT/SAT, Subject Tests, or AP exams)
- For academic subjects, a 95th percentile score on the associated Subject Test(s)
- For GMAT and GRE tutors, a 90th percentile score
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching or tutoring experience (preferred but not required)
- Experience working with high school students
- Familiarity with college admissions process and testing requirements
