Job Overview

The Account Executive for Stride Tutoring is a critical position that requires a unique blend of sales acumen, educational expertise, and passion for making a difference in the lives of students. As a seasoned professional in this role, you will be responsible for acquiring and servicing new and existing school and district clients within an assigned territory. Your expertise in understanding the needs of educational institutions and your ability to tailor solutions that meet those needs will be instrumental in driving success. Reporting to the Business Development Lead for Stride Tutoring, you will work closely with school administrators to identify opportunities for partnership and growth, leveraging your knowledge of our tutoring platform and services to deliver impactful solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acquire new clients through prospecting, identifying, and qualifying potential customers, and developing leads through cold calling and referral channels to generate appointments and establish relationships.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their objectives and requirements, preparing tailored plans to meet their short- and long-term needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maintain and expand sales within an assigned territory, closing sales of prospective customers to meet sales goals.
  • Maintain new and existing account relationships through regular customer contact, advising on new products and service offerings, and obtaining feedback to continuously improve our services.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for customer issues, maintaining professionalism and control to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Collaborate across departments to coordinate sales efforts with key stakeholders, ensuring a cohesive approach to customer engagement.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client data in our systems, facilitating a smooth knowledge transfer and hand-off of closed sales to Sales Operations and Customer Success teams.
  • Communicate effectively with key accounts and corporate staff, providing reports on budget and sales activity, forecasting demand, and offering feedback to marketing and product engineering teams for future product development.
  • Familiarize yourself with and become adept at using necessary tools to track opportunities and forecast demand accurately.
  • Contribute to the formal review process of business activities in assigned territories, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
  • Represent the business at trade shows, sharing information on our products and conducting technical and product presentations and demonstrations.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to junior sales professionals, sharing your expertise and experience to support their development.

Essential Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree and at least five years of related professional work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working in K-12 school districts and/or school administration, with a deep understanding of the educational landscape and the challenges faced by schools and districts.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of students.
  • Knowledge of the K-12 education industry, including trends, challenges, and innovations in educational technology and online learning solutions.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work effectively across the organization to solve complex issues and achieve common goals.
  • Autonomous with strong time management and organizational skills, able to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas and solutions in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web applications, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time, meeting with clients and representing Stride at educational events and conferences.
  • Ability to clear a required background check, ensuring the safety and security of our students and educational partners.

Desired Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Sales experience, with a proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals and quotas.
  • Previous experience using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application, such as Salesforce, to manage sales pipelines and customer interactions.
  • Advanced Excel skills for reporting and data analysis, with the ability to interpret and present complex data insights to inform sales strategies.

Compensation and Benefits

Stride offers a competitive salary range for this position, from $96,000 to $144,000 per year, depending on experience, location, and other factors. Eligible employees may also receive a bonus, based on individual and company performance. Our robust benefits package includes health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off, designed to support the well-being and financial security of our employees and their families.
