Job Summary
As a Group Fitness Instructor at Life Time Fitness, you will be responsible for leading a variety of group fitness classes, promoting our programs and services, and developing positive relationships with our members. You will have the opportunity to teach a range of classes, including Barbell Strength, LifeBarre, Warrior Sculpt, Xtreme, Strike, Kettlebell Kombine, Gluteus Maxout, Aqua, Dance, and other general group fitness classes. You will also be responsible for educating class participants on correct form and alternative moves, listening to their feedback, and providing a supportive and motivating environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a variety of group fitness classes, including but not limited to:
- Barbell Strength: muscular strength and endurance exercises using Iron Grip strength equipment
- LifeBarre: a full-body workout combining classic ballet moves, Pilates, and traditional conditioning exercises
- Warrior Sculpt: a fusion of yoga and weights providing dynamic strength training
- Xtreme: a high-intensity cardio workout featuring explosive and dynamic movements
- Strike: a full-body interval workout blending traditional kickboxing combos with athletic drills
- Kettlebell Kombine: a combination of cardio and strength-training exercises using a kettlebell and body weight
- Gluteus Maxout: a workout focusing on movements that target and strengthen the muscles in and around the legs and glutes
- Develop positive relationships with class participants by teaching challenging and entertaining classes
- Educate class participants on correct form and alternative moves during the fitness routine
- Listen to members' feedback, answer questions, and engage in conversation before and after classes
- Clean and organize studio space after each Group Fitness class
- Provide current music for each class that entertains and motivates while ensuring appropriate language
- Promote Life Time Fitness programs, products, and services while encouraging participation in Group Fitness classes
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1 or more years of fitness instructor work experience
- CPR/AED Certification
- Minimum of one of the following Group Exercise Certifications:
- National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM)
- American Council of Exercise (ACE)
- American Fitness Aerobic Association (AFAA)
- Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA)
- Ability to perform an aerobic activity for the duration of a class, which may include standing, walking, climbing, balancing, running, crawling, and kneeling
- Ability to routinely lift 50 pounds and occasionally 100 pounds
- Ability to perform exercises specific to the assigned class
Skills and Competencies:
