About the Role

As a Senior iOS Developer - MFi Hearing Aid Specialist, you will be at the forefront of resolving complex connectivity and discovery issues between iOS devices and MFi-compatible hearing aids. Your expertise will be crucial in driving forward the development of seamless, intuitive interactions between these devices, thereby significantly improving the user experience for individuals relying on hearing aids.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and Resolve Connectivity Issues: Tackle and solve complex issues related to MFi hearing aid connectivity and discovery within iOS environments, ensuring a smooth and reliable user experience.
  • Enhance Bluetooth Connectivity: Work on improving the robustness of Bluetooth connections between iOS devices and hearing aids, leveraging your in-depth knowledge of Bluetooth LE technology.
  • Improve iOS APIs for MFi Hearing Aids: Develop and refine iOS APIs to better manage MFi hearing aid connections, making them more efficient and user-friendly.
  • Better Error Handling and Reconnection Protocols: Design and implement enhanced error handling and reconnection protocols for MFi devices, minimizing disruptions and improving overall device reliability.
  • Collaboration with Hearing Aid Manufacturers: Work closely with hearing aid manufacturers to ensure seamless integration of their devices with iOS, fostering a collaborative environment that drives innovation.
  • Documentation and Troubleshooting: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for MFi-related development and troubleshooting, serving as a valuable resource for the team and future developers.

Required Skills and Experience

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Extensive iOS Development Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of experience in iOS development, with a strong portfolio showcasing your capabilities.
  • MFi Hearing Aid Protocols and Bluetooth LE: In-depth knowledge of MFi hearing aid protocols and Bluetooth LE technology, with a proven track record of working with these technologies.
  • iOS Accessibility Features: A strong understanding of iOS Accessibility features, particularly those related to hearing devices, ensuring you're well-versed in creating inclusive solutions.
  • Swift and Objective-C Programming: Expertise in Swift and Objective-C programming languages, with the ability to leverage these languages to develop sophisticated iOS applications.
  • Core Bluetooth Framework: Experience with the Core Bluetooth framework and other relevant iOS APIs, enabling you to craft seamless Bluetooth interactions.
  • Familiarity with Hearing Aid Firmware and Hardware: An understanding of hearing aid firmware and hardware constraints, allowing you to develop solutions that are both effective and feasible.
  • Problem-Solving and Debugging: Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, critical for identifying and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring that your work is well-integrated with other aspects of the project.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications can significantly enhance your candidacy:

  • Experience with Hearing Aid Manufacturers: Previous experience working with hearing aid manufacturers or other medical device companies, providing valuable insight into the specific needs and challenges of these industries.
  • Knowledge of Audio Processing and DSP: Familiarity with audio processing and Digital Signal Processing (DSP), enabling you to develop more sophisticated and effective solutions.
  • Apple's HomeKit or IoT Protocols: Knowledge of Apple's HomeKit or other IoT protocols, expanding your understanding of how devices interact within the broader ecosystem.

Project Details

This is a part-time opportunity with an initial contract duration of 1 month, with the possibility of extension based on project needs. You will be expected to work 20-25 hours per week, with a flexible schedule that accommodates your availability. The position is remote, with occasional on-site meetings as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from ?50,000.00 to ?80,000.00 per month, reflecting our commitment to rewarding talent and expertise.
