Our teams are dedicated to helping our customers – developers, small and large businesses, educational institutions, and government agencies – see the benefits of our technology come to life. **The Role** As a Customer Engineer, you'll play a key role in understanding the needs of our customers and help shape the future of businesses of all sizes use technology to connect with customers, employees, and partners. You'll work with Technical Sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers, helping prospective customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, explaining technical features, and helping customers design architectures. You'll also have the opportunity to help customers leverage specialized Machine Learning (ML) hardware developed by Google, such as the Tensor Processing Unit (TPU). **Responsibilities** * Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers. * Provide machine learning expertise to support the technical relationship with Google's customers, including product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partner directly with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud. * Work with customers to demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments. * Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to implement a complete solution using best practices on Google Cloud. * Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as needed. **Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. * 10 years of experience as a pre-sales engineer at an enterprise technology company or a similar customer-facing role. * Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders. * Experience with big data, machine learning, and numerical programming frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Python, MATLAB). * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and customers. * Ability to learn quickly, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud/IT technology space. **Preferred Qualifications** * Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field. * Experience in building machine learning solutions and leveraging specific machine learning architectures (e.g., deep learning, LSTM, convolutional networks). * Experience in architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems. * Experience in data and information management as it relates to big data trends and issues within businesses. * Strong understanding of cloud computing, including Google Cloud Platform, and experience with cloud-based solutions. **Skills and Competencies** * Strong technical expertise in machine learning, big data, and numerical programming frameworks. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and customers. * Ability to learn quickly, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud/IT technology space. * Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions. * Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand customer needs and develop effective solutions to meet those needs. **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** As a Customer Engineer at Google Cloud, you'll have the opportunity to work with a talented team of engineers, sales professionals, and product managers to help customers transform their businesses. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
