Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Full Stack Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for assisting pharmacists, interacting with customers, and performing various tasks related to pharmacy operations. Your exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will make you an excellent fit for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in the exercise of pharmacy, including the preparation and dispensing of medications, under direct supervision.
- Interact with customers, answer their questions, and provide assistance with services and products.
- Perform various tasks related to pharmacy operations, including data entry, inventory management, and cash handling.
- Model and provide a unique and delightful customer experience by greeting customers, offering assistance, and resolving issues.
- Develop strong relationships with valuable customers and provide them with exceptional service.
- Perform duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, personnel Pharmacist, and store supervisor, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug records, filling prescriptions, and verifying medication accuracy.
- Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow, and report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
- Register all related income on assigned cash register, collect and handle coins as required, and take customers to the OTC aisle to assist in finding merchandise.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require the personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians.
- Process (correct and resubmit) claims for third-party prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and perform other clerical responsibilities as assigned by the store manager.
- Assist and support Pharmacy department on stock management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of prescription drugs.
- May assist pharmacist in administering medical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other medical services as required.
- Assist Pharmacy supervisor and personnel Pharmacist in developing and maintaining strong relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers, through clinical provider detailing and outreach to healthcare agencies, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums for reinforcing growth opportunities.
- Assist with outdoor and indoor maintenance by ensuring the pharmacy department is stocked with sufficient supplies, clean, neat, and orderly in appearance.
Education and Personal Development

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will have the opportunity to earn and maintain PTCB certification through our unique training program and/or state required certification/registration. You will also attend training and complete PPLs as requested by your manager and acquire continuing education credits. Our pharmacy technician apprenticeship program qualifies you for 8 (8) college credit hours as recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE).
Basic Qualifications
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Choose to have six months of experience in a retail environment.
- Choose to have previous work experience with Walgreens.
- Choose to have desirable math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
- Choose to have good computer skills.
- Choose to have knowledge of store inventory management.
- Prefer PTCB certification.
