We are now seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payment Posting Representative to join our dynamic team remotely.
About the Role:
As a Payment Posting Representative, you will play a critical role in supporting our Akron, OH Billing Center. You will be responsible for accurately posting payments and other transactions to our billing system for various payors, including Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial plans. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to make a significant impact in our healthcare finance operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payment Posting: Post payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and necessary adjustments for emergency medicine type services with accuracy and efficiency.
- Explanation of Benefits (EOB) Processing: Post transitions according to EOBs provided by insurance companies, and ensure that contractual adjustments and patient responsibility amounts are posted according to payor guidelines.
- Correspondence Management: Post correspondence mail according to the information provided on the letters to ensure proper actions are taken by appropriate departments to resolve requests.
- Insurance Carrier Communication: Contact insurance carriers and request EOBs as necessary to facilitate payment posting.
- Issue Identification and Resolution: Report any issues identified that impact invoices from being processed correctly, and collaborate with the team to resolve discrepancies.
- Automated Exchanges Management: Manage Automated Exchanges that may require manual intervention for completion, and report any discrepancies that can be corrected by revising automated logic.
- Batch Processing and Balancing: Post batches and balance to the correct check amount, ensuring that all transactions are posted with accuracy.
- Payment Reconciliation: Post all payments to individual invoices, matching patient date of service to the payment explanation of benefits received.
- Rejection Processing: Post all rejections listed on payment EOBs, and handle payments with no identification to a specific patient invoice.
- Deposit Batch Logs: Complete deposit batch logs, and maintain accurate records.
- Policy and Procedure Management: Responsible for maintaining all policy and procedures, and participate in department meetings.
- Workload Management: Manage workload to post batches within the required turn-around time, and assist other team members with their batches as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Insurance/Patient Payment Posting Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in insurance or patient payment posting is required.
- Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, are essential.
- IDX or GE Centricity Experience: Knowledge of IDX or GE Centricity is a plus.
- Problem-Solving and Communication Skills: Excellent problem-solving, communication, organizational, and time management skills are essential for this role.
