We're now seeking an experienced Network Administrator II to join our team on a critical project to migrate U.S. Coast Guard Cisco routers from existing Verizon circuits to AT&T circuits. As a Remote Network Administrator II, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the success of this one-year project and be at the forefront of innovation in the IT industry.
About Our Company and the Role

As a Network Administrator II, you'll be responsible for providing Tier I/II support for the USCG Cisco router migration project, working closely with senior network engineers, and collaborating with third-party vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing network support, addressing availability issues, overcoming performance problems, and delivering overall level 2 support.
- Manage network performance, diagnose performance problems, and undertake tuning activities to ensure network performance meets Service Level Agreement requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network.
- Report on overall network performance, including frequent problems, underlying issues, and plans to improve network availability, performance, and problem resolution.
- Implement and coordinate network policies, procedures, and standards.
- Enforce network security procedures to ensure the integrity of the network.
- Work under general supervision, providing solutions to technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
- Interpret alerts generated by monitoring systems and take corrective action.
- Monitor network stability and performance to maintain continual operations.
- Coordinate communication between various groups to ensure effective collaboration.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- An active DOD Secret Clearance.
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Networking, with 2-4 years of network management experience and IT experience.
- A Master's degree in a relevant field with 1 year of network management experience and IT experience.
- WAN troubleshooting and problem determination skills (ISDN, ATM, SONET, etc.).
- Experience with various types of infrastructure equipment (Cisco, Juniper).
- Knowledge of network analysis tools (Cisco Prime, SolarWinds, Identity Services Engine, Cisco Adaptive Security Device Manager, etc.).
- On-the-job experience with hardware and software configuration management.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
While not mandatory, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional (CCNA/CCNP) certification.
- Microsoft Technology Associate certification.
- A Bachelor's degree in an information technology field.
