About our Company
The Hudson Valley Seed Company provides gardeners and farmers with a robust catalog of over 400 varieties of open-pollinated seeds, along with tubers, bulbs, tools, supplies, and art work. Because we offer unique varieties that we cannot source from suppliers, we produce many of these seeds in our own certified organic fields in beautiful Accord, NY. We celebrate the uniqueness of the varieties in our catalog by commissioning artwork for each of our Art Packs—one-of-a-kind folding seed packets, each designed by a different artist and telling the unique story of that seed.

About the Position
We are currently seeking a part-time (16 hr/week), hybrid in-person/remote Social Media & Content Associate to join our team as a temporary employee, with the possibility for the position to become permanent. The ideal start date is Monday, November 3rd, with a tentative end date around April 3rd. We're looking for a creative, flexible, and detail-oriented person who enjoys working in both the natural and the digital world.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Being in the office with the Sales & Customer Experience team for 1 day/week.
- Monitoring, posting, and managing communication for our social media presence in accordance with the calendar laid out by our Marketing Content Creator.
- Responding to social media comments and questions, and coordinating with Customer Service as needed.
- Collecting visual and audio content from our business and farm sites, including video, photos, interviews, and other materials.
- Creating content with these materials – creating daily stories, making reels, designing graphics, and other compelling marketing content – for use across our marketing platforms in coordination with our Marketing Content Creator & Director of Sales & Customer Experience.
- Helping edit and update content for paid advertising if needed.
Our ideal candidate:
- Is adept at social media and content collection, with skills and experience in taking photos and creating stories and reels.
- Has experience in marketing, social media, graphic design, photography, copywriting, and/or video editing.
- Has experience in Canva, Adobe Suite, CapCut, and/or social media scheduling applications (we use Sprout Social).
- Is comfortable with the range of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
- Enjoys thinking and writing about growing seeds, plants, and gardens for a broad audience with different levels of expertise.
- Has enthusiasm about and some hands on experience with farming and/or gardening.
- Is comfortable working both independently and on a team.
- Works well with time management, scheduling and deadlines.
Our benefits package for a 16 hr/week position includes:

Pay: $23-$25.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule: Exact schedule TBD, with 1 in-person block per week. Ideally, hours would be spread over at least 3 days/week.
