As a Visiting Professor at DeVry University, you will be part of a community that values diversity, inclusivity, and academic excellence. **About the Opportunity** We are seeking experienced professionals with a Master's degree to share their knowledge and expertise as Adjunct Faculty members, teaching day, evening, and/or Saturday practitioner-based programs in various instructional areas. As a Visiting Professor, you will be responsible for facilitating student learning by delivering educational courses and programs in accordance with DeVry University requirements. You will develop course syllabi and lesson plans, apply teaching techniques to best achieve course and programmatic objectives, and participate in comprehensive faculty training and ongoing development activities to ensure the highest quality instruction. **Key Responsibilities** - Develop and provide students with an approved DeVry University syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives. - Organize, prepare, and regularly revise and update all course materials. - Use appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students. - Model effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning. - Set clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examination dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories. - Ensure that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives. - Demonstrate consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams and provide timely feedback to students. - Complete other duties as assigned. **Essential Qualifications** - A Master's degree is required; Doctoral degree preferred (with 18 graduate hours in the subject being taught for undergraduate teaching). - SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred - Qualifying credentials must be awarded by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Administration, or by an international institution determined to hold equivalent accreditation. - Additional requirements driven by state licensing or accreditation considerations may apply. - Faculty must have requisite subject matter expertise and outstanding communication skills. - Faculty must also have excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment. - Must be able to work in a collegial manner and facilitate the efforts of diverse groups. **Preferred Qualifications** - Experience in teaching adult learners in a higher education setting. - Familiarity with online learning platforms and technologies. - Strong organizational and time management skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. **Skills and Competencies** - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work effectively in a team environment. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. - Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. - Strong organizational and time management skills. - Familiarity with online learning platforms and technologies. **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** As a Visiting Professor at DeVry University, you will have the opportunity to: - Develop your teaching and instructional skills through comprehensive faculty training and ongoing development activities. - Collaborate with experienced faculty members and industry professionals to enhance your knowledge and expertise. - Participate in faculty development programs and workshops to stay up-to-date with best practices in teaching and learning. - Contribute to the development of new programs and courses that align with industry needs and trends. - Pursue opportunities for advancement and career growth within the institution. **Work Environment and Company Culture** DeVry University is committed to fostering a working environment that values diversity, inclusivity, and academic excellence.
