Introduction to the Role and Company

As a Building Wellness Liaison, you will play a pivotal role in promoting and supporting the overall wellness of K-12 students, working closely with the Wellness Advisory Committee, School Health Councils, and Student Committees to drive the district's wellness initiatives forward.

Job Summary

The primary objective of this role is to coordinate, promote, and support the Board's goal of K-12 student wellness within the district. As a Building Wellness Liaison, you will be responsible for leading monthly building School Health Council meetings, attending district School Health Council meetings as a building liaison, and submitting action plans annually with goals aligned with district-wide wellness initiatives. Your expertise and passion for student wellness will be instrumental in encouraging and overseeing student involvement in the planning and support of building-level wellness goals, providing annual reports on goals and information for the annual district wellness report, and completing the School Health Index to guide action planning and goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly building School Health Council meetings to discuss and implement wellness initiatives
  • Attend district School Health Council meetings as a building liaison to ensure alignment and collaboration
  • Submit action plans annually with goals that are aligned with district-wide wellness initiatives
  • Encourage and oversee student involvement in the planning and support of building-level wellness goals
  • Provide annual reports on goals and information for the annual district wellness report
  • Complete the School Health Index and review information with the School Health Council to guide action planning and goals
  • Communicate district wellness information from the Central Office to the building
  • Disseminate and communicate information from Communities That Care

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must be a graduate of an accredited college or university and hold a proper Pennsylvania certification for the position. You should demonstrate knowledge in the area of assignment, possess a positive attitude toward the teaching profession, administration, service to the district, and the importance and purpose of the education program. Additionally, you must be proficient in the use of current technology for individual or group demonstration or communication and be able to flex and vary hours to accommodate the needs of students, parents, and other teachers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a related field, such as education, health, or wellness
  • Strong understanding of K-12 student wellness initiatives and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface diplomatically with teachers, administrators, parents, students, and outside organizations
  • Ability to move about to access various locations and possess effective communication skills to provide accurate information to others and to obtain, give, and follow directions
  • Demonstrated ability to provide good judgment, planning, and human relations skills, as well as the ability to work under periods of stress due to the level of position responsibility
