About Delta Airlines and the Operations and Customer Center (OCC)

The Operations and Customer Center (OCC) is the nerve center of Delta's operations, responsible for strategic and tactical decision-making for any operational disruption in their global network. As a Customer Care Representative, you'll be part of a dynamic team that works around the clock to ensure the airline's operations run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Operations and Customer Center (OCC) team in making strategic and tactical decisions to resolve operational disruptions.
 - Work with aviation experts to analyze data and solve complex business problems.
 - Be assigned to one of the following teams:
    
- Load Control Center: responsible for aircraft weight and balance, fuel distribution, and ensuring compliance with manufacturer and company specifications.
 - Fuel Strategy: responsible for developing strategy, tools, and sustainability policy for $14 billion in annual jet fuel consumed by the airline.
 
 - Develop new skills and abilities, and be willing to take on new challenges and learn from experiences.
 - Collaborate with colleagues, maintaining a team-first mentality with the outcome of your team as the top priority.
 
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A four-year degree in Software Engineering, Analytics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related field.
 - Availability to work for three alternating semesters in Atlanta, GA, Monday through Friday, 8AM - 5PM schedule.
 - Enrollment with an educational institution throughout the term of the co-op program.
 - Strong organizational, project management, and verbal/written communication skills.
 - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
 - Ability to work in both team and individual settings.
 - A commitment to making safety and security the top priority.
 - Embracing diverse people, thinking, and styles.
 - A high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
 - At least 18 years old and authorization to work in the US.
 
Preferred Qualifications
To give you a competitive edge, you'll ideally have:
- Familiarity with SQL, SAS, Python, R, Tableau, Excel, and PowerPoint.
 - Experience with airline operations, scheduling, and planning.
 - A history of seeking leadership positions, including student and community associations.
 - A passion for a future career in the aviation industry and serving Delta's customers.
