About the Role
The Senior Big Data Software Engineer will be responsible for leading moderately complex initiatives and tasks within technical domain conditions, contributing to large-scale planning of strategies, and designing, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting for projects and initiatives related to the technology space. Key Responsibilities
- Lead moderately complex initiatives and tasks within technical domain conditions, ensuring timely and effective delivery of projects and initiatives.
- Contribute to large-scale planning of strategies, collaborating with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop technical solutions.
- Design, code, test, troubleshoot, and document for projects and initiatives related to the technology space, including upgrades and services.
- Review moderately complex technical issues that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and methodology, providing expert guidance and recommendations.
- Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing customer needs or potential new customers' needs, utilizing a strong understanding of the functionality, techniques, systems, or compliance requirements.
- Collaborate and communicate with peers, partners, and mid-level managers to resolve technical issues and achieve objectives.
- Lead projects and act as an escalation point, providing guidance and direction to less experienced staff.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.
- 3+ years of programming experience, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Hadoop, Teradata, MongoDB, AWS, GitHub, and Bitbucket.
- 3+ years of experience designing, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting for projects and initiatives.
- 3+ years of experience with Python and Unix/Shell scripting, Scala, Flash, HBase, Oozie, Flume, and Kafka.
- 3+ years of experience with Ansible.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the essential qualifications, the following preferred qualifications will be considered:
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) across all organizational levels of technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and have a proactive attitude.
- Experience in designing ETL data flows using creating mappings/workflow to extract data from SQL Server and Data Migration and Transformation from Oracle/Access/Excel Sheets using SQL Server SSIS.
- Related experience working as a Programmer at Wells Fargo.
