About the Role
The Risk Information Services team is responsible for delivering high-quality data solutions to support our risk management initiatives. As a Senior Big Data Software Engineer, you will be responsible for leading complex projects, designing and implementing large-scale data solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to drive business outcomes. Your expertise in big data technologies, programming languages, and software development methodologies will be essential in driving the success of our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex projects and initiatives within the technical area, including designing, developing, and implementing large-scale data solutions
 - Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements and drive business outcomes
 - Design, code, test, troubleshoot, and report on projects and initiatives related to the technology space, including upgrades and implementations
 - Analyze complex technical issues and develop creative solutions to meet business needs
 - Lead a team and provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff
 - Collaborate with peers, associates, and mid-level managers to resolve technical issues and achieve goals
 
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
 - 3+ years of experience in software engineering, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
 - 3+ years of experience with Hadoop, Teradata, MongoDB, AWS, GitHub, and Bitbucket
 - 3+ years of experience with programming languages such as Python, Unix/Shell scripting, Scala, Flash, HBase, Oozie, Flume, and Kafka
 - 3+ years of experience with Ansible
 - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop creative solutions
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a highly collaborative environment with a proactive mindset
 - Strong communication skills (verbal and written) across all organizational levels of technical and non-technical audiences
 - Experience designing ETL data flows using mapping/workflows to extract data from SQL Server and Information Movement and Change from Oracle/Access/Excel Sheets using SQL Server SSIS
 - Related experience working as a programmer at Wells Fargo
