Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

As a Customer Experience Manager at Home Depot, you'll be responsible for a range of key tasks and activities, including:

  • Driving Customer Satisfaction:
    • Mentoring associates on customer service best practices and ensuring the team provides exceptional service.
    • Resolving customer complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner.
    • Preparing Department Managers and Floor Sales Associates for high-volume sales periods.
    • Monitoring customer flow through checkouts and taking action to ensure fast and friendly service.
    • Taking corrective action as needed to address customer concerns.
  • Developing and Engaging Associates:
    • Providing coaching and feedback to associates based on observations and behavior.
    • Collaborating with Associate Senior Supervisors on formal performance discussions and disciplinary actions.
    • Recognizing and rewarding associates for demonstrating expected behaviors and performance.
    • Providing input to Associate Senior Supervisors on associate performance and participating in talent planning discussions.
    • Assisting with the interview and hiring process for new associates.
  • Leading Store Operations:
    • Leading the store's opening and closing processes, including conducting daily briefings and walk-throughs.
    • Communicating priorities, needs, and tasks to associates.
    • Performing Opening, Closing, and Manager on Duty tasks, as well as other store-wide responsibilities.
    • Validating daily store needs with Associate Senior Supervisors and Senior Managers.
    • Ensuring associates complete store tasks according to timing expectations.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be successful as a Customer Experience Manager at Home Depot, you'll need:

  • Essential Qualifications:
    • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
    • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in whole-store management or a related field.
    • Previous experience in big-box retail or the home improvement industry.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
