Key Responsibilities: Leading the Charge in Mental Health Innovation
As our ideal candidate, you'll be a seasoned leader with a proven track record of building and managing complex collaborations. Your role will be multifaceted, with a focus on:
- Leadership & Strategy: Spearhead the formation of multiple consortia-based programs, guiding key leaders to identify pressing questions, innovative therapeutics approaches, and critical issues within the mental health landscape.
 - Innovation & Progress: Drive change and advancement in the field by encouraging fresh ideas, exploring new targets, and developing policies to address mental health challenges comprehensively.
 - Collaboration & Partnership: Work closely with cross-sector stakeholders, including overlapping with neuroscience initiatives and leveraging biomarker experts within the organization, to create a multidisciplinary approach to mental health research.
 - Problem Identification & Solution: Collaborate with experts to identify problems related to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of neuropsychiatric conditions such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse, PTSD, and schizophrenia.
 - Translation Science: Work with associate directors and principal scientists to bridge the gap between scientific innovation and practical applications, ensuring advancements lead to tangible benefits for individuals with mental health conditions.
 
Qualifications: The Ideal Candidate
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- A PhD in neuroscience or a relevant area, with a strong foundation in mental health research, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
 - In-depth knowledge of the mental health landscape, including current challenges and opportunities for innovation.
 - Strong connections within the scientific community, including key opinion leaders and a network of experts in relevant fields.
 - A visionary mindset with the ability to drive change and innovation, thinking creatively and developing novel solutions to complex problems.
 - Proven experience working with diverse teams and stakeholders, including NIH Institute/Center Directors, leaders in biopharma, and the philanthropic and patient advocacy investment community.
 - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and facilitate collaboration.
