Consulting Associate, Biologist

ERM is hiring a Consulting Associate, Biologist to join our Impact Assessment Environmental Clearance team remote, based in Irvine, CA. This position focuses on working closely in collaboration with a larger team of natural resources specialists to provide environmental review and constraints analysis of biological and waters resources for various construction sites for a utility sector client throughout Southern California.

Requirements

  • BA/BS or Master’s degree in a natural science discipline
  • Recent graduate to 2+ years of field experience in California habitats, or similar (Southern California experience preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in computer software including Excel, MS word, and online data management systems
  • Excellent time management and follow-through skills
  • Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health & Safety protocols
  • High level written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports
  • Ability to multi-task, maintains flexibility, and works independently with minimal supervision on projects with expedited deadlines
  • Demonstrated attributes to become a strong consultant – team player, eagerness to learn and grow, self-starter who takes initiative, versatile, and service-oriented mentality
  • Ability to work safely outdoors in variable weather conditions and on challenging terrain
  • Working knowledge of sub-meter accuracy GPS technologies and map interpretation skills (e.g., NWI, USGS, aerial photography)
  • Must have a strong attention to detail in documentation of work
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated independent and effective problem solving and decision making skills
  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area
